I looked at you many times before Trying to figure out what they saw Luring them in like a starving child Then stripping their soul’s completely raw. Deep inside, that gut instinct kept sending out warnings. Oh, how I tried to ignore it. I fought it with everything I had Thinking I could fix you Wanting to be the one so bad. I should’ve known when she warned me But I couldn’t, I didn’t want to believe you could be that cruel. And, you convinced me, it was her, she was damaged, not you. You presented as educated, caring and soulful. I bought into that, I was so thoughtful, We all did, how awful. But, when push came to shove with time You revealed yourself, the manipulator, the whore and the unkind. Living for you was a chore. Red pill or blue, they both kept you unglued Pushed you back into your corner. Poor damaged shoul, your heart is so cold You’ll latch onto anything if I’m being so bold. Swallow it down, shoot it straight up Either way, it fucked you right up. Have you got a first aid kit? Do you know what to do to fix it? You left us all damaged You checked out, you never check in You sat there staring, rubbing your chin Fix it, fix it Apologetically, you cried, you begged, Please, have patience with me, I’m trying, you said. But all you managed was to leave us all crying Feeling sorry for you as you kept coming unglued. Red pill then blue, we should have all seen it But, then again, you didn’t really mean it. Damaged, you were, but you just couldn’t see it. I dropped a rose on your coffin You’re gone and I can’t even feel it.
