Coming for You

Pale, frail, crashed to the floor

blinded by sounds, like never before

What’s inside my head blairs

maddening, shuddering, frightening scares

stabbing pain from the back of my skull

tried fighting it off, but I can’t

the killer inside’s on a rant

screaming so loud, it’s trying to take over

steel blades and blood shimmer in moonlight

it likes that,

my other half,

the aphrodisiac that feeds the beast

severed souls give the night’s feast

the power of the madman comes out of its shell

up through the earth, straight from hell

beware

coming for you!

Knock Me Back

I’m sometimes lost, I’m forever alone

I fight with my thoughts when no-one is home

I reach for you, but no-one is there

I scream and I cry as I rip out my hair.

How can I face you and tell you I’m broken

With each tear cried, I’m breaking wide open

I scream at myself in the dark,

hearing every last beat of my heart.

What if I ran for the door,

trip as I break to my core

Would you turn from me and choose to ignore

what broke me like never before.

I crash and I burn deep inside, not knowing what it’s like to feel alive

Knock me back to the place I was born

feel the first breath that was special but torn

from a recycled soul that was battered and worn.

There you sat, as a matter of fact

just grinning, you were, like a Cheshire cat

ashes to ashes, the others all spat

a relevant term, as a matter of fact.

Cut through and bleeding where the love once sat

what do you think about that?

With a cloak to disguise me, I’m done

consumed with the night all alone

all that I’ve felt, is now gone

needed this time on my own

renewed, with my self, I have grown

can face all that is on my own

at peace with myself, I am home.

never again all alone.

Cardinal Rule

The heat, that first moment,

Oh, how she believed you.

Your intriguingly woven words, cradled as a womb to keep her close,

Oh, how you immobilized her.

There you sat on your naked porch,

watching as she caught the wind in her wings while gliding on her swing

Oh, how you mesmerized her.

Then you eviscerated her spleen with your razored reach.

You became monstrous when the mask you chose to hide behind fell off your face,

Oh, how all the intrigue left her.

The clouds rolled in and the sky went black.

She went from an illuminated cherry blossom to an unveiled rage, managing her distress while maintaining her tact, such a worthy skill, indeed!

Oh, the lessons she learned that day.

The day of your betrayal a thousand yesterdays won’t change the pain, but a thousand tomorrows will heal it.

Now, she asks what makes them all tick and what their purpose is before she bares her claws and devours their souls

Oh, how her dark half took over.

Her cardinal rule, never let them get close.
