Aftermath by Crimson Quintessence

Once the dust settled

I opened my eyes

what wonderous sights did I see

colors so bright

images delight

as far as my eyes could see

flowers in bloom

lifted all gloom

I danced in the fields so green

spinning around with a tune in my head

a future so bright and clean

the dread in my head

dissipated instead

and I was balanced on life’s perfect dream

the aftermath of the storm

returned me to the norm

of a life I had missed for so long

as I walk along singing my song

I never look back at all that is gone.
