Forgotten Selves – A Quintessential Truth #8
When we are to busy doing for others we become misguided at doing things for ourselves. Some of us are quite content doing things for others, especially when it puts a smile on someone else’s face, in turn, it makes us smile and feel needed.
Take note of who are truly thankful and those who are full of excuses. It only takes half a second to give thanks, but excuse creation is an art-form crafted and molded by those who can be some-what selfish. Excuse creators seem to possess some kind of new found attitude that the world owes them something and they intend on collecting. They continuously look for things to feed their egos and when they aren’t getting enough attention they throw out a Whammy. “Look at me, Feed me.”
Some people have forgotten their manners. For them there are avenues of simplistic reminders “One who saunters with their nose stuck up in the air will certainly drown in a rain storm.” Never assume you are better than everyone else, one doesn’t need to throw their education in the face of others or incessantly complain about every and anyone who crosses their path. Being continuously opinionated and always having something to say about others sucks you into a negative space and drains any splendor you could be enjoying.
If you’ve chosen a path to spread negativity and lies about others you’ve chosen to live on the darker side of life and nothing good will come of it. In the end verbal assaults are so unnecessary and have no place in the world. Besides, they take up far too much energy. Turn tears into smiles and you are much better off in the long run. There is just no place for inflated egos.
Karma will come knocking, of that one can be sure. When it’s time to pay up, for those that owe it their debt, well it will collect and that could ruin those who are evil right down to their core.
Always take time for yourself. Remind yourself you are worth it. Treat yourself to some relaxation and stimulation to produce some positive thinking and positive energy. We forget about ourselves far too easily and it’s time to give ourselves the credit we deserve and enjoy life. Most grind themselves to the bone at least 5 days a week and jobs that are no longer exciting to constantly please others and get paid. Walk in the sunshine. Take in the fresh air and fill up your lungs. Soak in a nice hot bath and let the warmth sooth aching muscles. Dance in the rain. Sing and dance to your favorite music like no one is watching. Be silly, be goofy, be free. Get back in touch with your inner child. Hell, build a couch fort and save the world. Curl up with a good book and nice cup of herbal tea. Write a poem, write a story, write a song. Go through your keepsakes and cruse over memories of growing up or reminders of your children when they were younger and see who they grew into all over again. Pull out old photos of your childhood and remind yourself how young and free you were. Just remind yourself that you matter, that you are blessed, loved and cherished. Don’t let negative energy eat you up. Get back to you. Do you.
