Evil Awoke by Quintessence

Only the broken falls as a blackened sky

Behold! We heard the lock click and fear grew, why not hide?

As the smiles are taken, the blades, driven in rapidly.

Wondrously, needlessly, wondrously.

They never hear the screams nor the cries with need.

When do cheeks become bloodied?

Where’s the tender sky, the nurturing rebirth now?

Alas, skins…

Sliding off the bone.

Death in the breeze, please, please! rainbows like life, Disappear just as quickly.

To see, we lead.  To give, we saw.  To learn, we grew.

But it was too late.

The evil awoke and sealed our fate.

Ears didn’t listen.

Why didn’t we care?

We thought we were invisible.

Now time stands still.

Dead leaves blow across our graves.

The earth has settled.

We should’ve stayed home, never snuck out.

We’d still be alive.
