Another One by Quintessence

I watched you

in the bar

twizzling your stick

in your drink.

You’re alone

how dreadful

you shouldn’t be

I approach

you see me

you smile

May I sit

you nod

We chat

over drinks

your smile

it’s enticing

Your glass

it’s empty

we order more

you excuse yourself

to powder your nose

My chance

just a little powder

added to your drink

I stir it well

unnoticeable

untraceable

You return

we finish

last call

time to go

My place

no yours

we take a cab

Quaint little nest

a loft

you drop your coat

You’re quite woozy

not feeling so well

You collapse

my time

play time.

It’s done

I leave

no trace of me

I am gone.

You awaken

in the morning

you’re freezing

you’re confused

You look around

you’re in the tub

your tub

The ice

is cold

you’re numb

you try to move

The pain hits

you notice the blood

you feel around

something is wrong

Your back aches

you touch it

more blood

a hole

you scream

you know

your kidney

it’s gone.

kidney

Don’t worry

you have

another one.
